- Is very pleased to say that we arrested 2 males last night on suspicion of burglary at the University! Following the suspicious incidents the day before we put a lot of officers in the area thinking they may come back. Following a burglary, and the quick thinking of a student who witnessed it and called security, the males were arrested in the area and are currently being interviewed in custody about the offence.
- We had 2 incidents yesterday afternoon where 2 males were seen acting suspiciously around accommodation, potentially looking for an opportunity to commit crime. It may be nothing but if you see anyone your not sure about please call security immediately. The quicker security and the police can respond the more likely we are to catch them!
- I want you all to have loads of fun on the last 9 days of term but most of all I want you to stay safe! Please have a quick look at the advice below and just think about it before you go out at night.
- Don’t walk alone at the end of the night, always walk in groups and stick to the main roads.
- Plan your journey and make sure someone is expecting you home.
- Make sure you keep enough cash on you for a taxi so you don’t end up stranded at the end of the night!
Enjoy yourselves and get home safely! - Theres been a sharp increase in thefts from cars in the past few weeks around Onslow, the University and RSCH. Please make sure you don't leave any valuables on show when leaving your cars. Sadly some cars have even been broken in to for loose change. These thefts are happening all times of the day and can be easily prevented with your help! If you see anyone acting suspiciously in the car parks please call 999 immediately. Thanks!

We took this seriously until we had determined exactly what had taken place. I’m pleased to say that it transpires that no offences had taken place and there will be no further police action.

- I’m sure many of you are now aware but I’d like to confirm that there have been some burglaries on the campus over the Christmas break. We were not fully aware of the extent of the burglaries until people had returned to the campus from their break.
