Dear Parklands Way Neighbours    cc: Other NHW Members

Wonderful to record, we now have Neighbourhood Watch in our area, well supported by the Surrey Police Team, with you making Surrey safer.

I wish to inform you that I (Benny De Souza) is your appointed co-ordinator for 'Parklands Way' and as such all updates received from Surrey Police will be forwarded to you promptly via email on the blogspot titled parklandswaynhw or full web link http://parklandswaynhw.blogspot.co.uk/

It is so pleasing to report that our Local Surrey Police are certainly doing all to protect us with the following ...... Mission statement.

The aim of Neighbourhood Watch is to create a partnership between the local community, the police and local authority.

To develop community relations by working together to reduce crime, the fear of crime and improve the quality of life in your area.

I have set up this blogspot titled 'parklandswaynhw' where all Police Notices received will be recorded which you can access at any time. (Few Police Notices recently received can be viewed on the HOME page.

You will be alerted on 'What's New' page for important updates and advised of forthcoming meetings where we members can attend. 

Please note, the HOME page will host all SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS NOTICES issued by Epsom & Ewell Central NHW Police Team covering Stonleigh, Auriol & Cuddington.

It is intended that this blog can be viewed by members within Stonleigh, Auriol and Cuddington and if you have any suggestons or recommendations you would like added to this blogspot, please feel free to let me know either verbaly or via my email address bennydesouza@btinternet.com

Hi I am PC Dan Doherty, I have been the Neighbourhood Officer in the Stoneleigh, Auriol and Cuddington wards for 6-5 years. During this time I have met many of you and anyone new to this web page can contact me directly via my e-mail. My aim this year will be to stop Anti Social Behaviour and to build on Neighbourhood Watch.

I have been working as a PCSO for Surrey Police since Januray 2009. For my first year of service I worked on North West Epsom and Ewell covering the Watersedge Estate and surrounding areas. I have recently moved onto West Ewell where I will be working closely with PC McDougall and PCSO Pearson. My aim is to conduct high visibility patrols in the area to cut down on the Anti Social Behaviour that occurs in the area and also to reduce the risk of any more serious offences by making a presence in the area which will deter the possible offenders. When you see me out and about please feel free to approach me and ask any questions which concern you and the area and I will hopefully be able to answer them for you. If you have any concerns please feel free to ring the Safer Neighbourhood Team and we will be happy to help.

I joined Surrey Police in April 2007 as part of the neighbourhood team in Addlestone before transferring to Epsom in October 2007. My main focus is Stoneleigh, Auriol and Cuddington. I have good support from your local PC Dan Doherty and the rest of the Epsom team, who between them have a wealth of experience in dealing with neighbourhood concerns and issues. My role is to provide a highly visibility presence with reassurance, to reduce crime, tackle antisocial behaviour and to help you with any issues or concerns you my have within your community. BENNY WRITES .......

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that we are very fortunate to have a fabulous NHW team comprising of Daniel Doherty whom most of us met recently when Daniel was handing us with our Neighbourhood Watch Area stickers. In the short brief meeting we certainly had some good laughs and what can I say .... "what a good Police Officer with a friendly personality". I can say the same of Christopher Wright and Graham Freeman.

My wife and I are so proud to be connected with Epsom & Ewell Neighbourhood Watch team covering Stonleigh, Auriol and Cuddington, especially to see all they are doing to help make our hometown a safer place.

I have been issued with some useful information which I have scanned and added below only to give you an overview of all that goes on behind the scene. Apologies if the quality is not too good.

(Note I have only scanned the front pages of a couple of booklets which in due course you may obtain a copy if you attend one of the meetings planned as I understand our Team do hold various meetings to even include a meeting in one of the Restaurants in Stonleigh were shop owners and locals attend during the day. I will keep you advised).

The leaflet below is very interesting with good information.

I will secure copies for all our members on Parklands Way.
